Will the Virginia State budget address local shortfalls in school funding and Metro operations? Will it meet health care needs and resume past progress toward climate responsibility? To address these and other issues critical to Northern Virginia’s quality of life, join DAD to welcome special guest speaker Delegate Mark Sickles, Chair of the House Appropriations Committee and moderator Delegate Irene Shin.
The General Assembly reconvenes on May 13th in a special session to resolve the budget impasse that grew from Governor Youngkin’s unprecedented 233 proposed amendments to the bipartisan budget passed in March. Delegate Sickles will review the course of negotiations and discuss the resulting outcomes and impacts for local governments and Democratic priorities.
